Sports Massage
Sports massage uses similar strokes as Swedish massage but reaching deeper layers of tissue including fascia. Sports massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas you may carry in your body from stress or past injuries/surgeries. Even though this techniques works the deeper tissues in the body it should not be painful, maybe a bit uncomfortable. It is common to feel mild soreness 24 hours after the treatment. As will all massage therapy techniques, drink plenty of water to help flush out the toxins and if time allows take an epsom salt bath.
Swedish Massage
Swedish Massage is relaxing type of therapeutic massage. I use an array of long gliding strokes along with kneading and rolling to help improve its circulation. This type of massage will relieve aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity and improve flexibility.
Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy massage can be very beneficial to relief the aches and pains that come along with carrying a child. In my practice, I have a pregnancy massage table that allows mom to lie on her tummy and feel completely supported, along with breast recesses to allow for more comfort. I use Swedish Massage techniques with an emphasis on back, hip and leg area to relieve pain and also assist with any swelling in the lower extremities.
CranioSacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. CST works with the soft tissue structures of the body and the flow of cerebrospinal fluid between the head and the base of the spine. These structures and fluids protect, support, and nourish the brain and spinal cord.
Visceral Manipulation
Visceral Manipulation is a gentle manual therapy that aids your body’s ability to release restrictions and unhealthy compensations that cause pain and dysfunction. Visceral Manipulation does not focus solely on the site of pain or dysfunction, but evaluates the entire body to find the source of the problem. The therapist feels for altered or decreased motion within the viscera, as well as restrictive patterns throughout the body and then applies VM techniques.
